As you probably know there’s a lot of great music on YouTube – from music videos to lyric videos, or even just the soundtracks of some trailers. In fact there may even be some songs on YouTube that you like to listen to from time to time, so why not download them instead?
Although YouTube technically doesn’t have a ‘download’ or ‘save’ options for songs, there are ways that you can rip songs from YouTube regardless. Most of these options have various limitations, but if you’re looking for one that does not you could try Movavi Screen Recorder.
By using Movavi Screen Recorder you’ll be able to rip any song from YouTube by recording it while it is playing. After you’re done you can save it as an audio file, and listen to it at any point.
To get started open up the YouTube song that you want to save, but pause it so that it doesn’t play. Next launch Movavi Screen Recorder and click anywhere so that the interface appears.
The only important setting that you need to check is that the ‘System Audio’ icon is highlighted, and you can click to toggle it if it isn’t. If you want you can also make sure the ‘Microphone’ icon isn’t highlighted, and adjust any other recording parameters if you feel the need.
One interesting feature in Movavi Screen Recorder is the fact that it can automatically stop the recording once it is done. To set that up click on the ‘alarm clock’ icon, then set a timer that corresponds to the duration of the song.
If and when you’re ready, click ‘REC’ to begin recording and play the song on YouTube. Assuming you didn’t set a timer you can click ‘Stop’ when the song is done, or if you did it will stop automatically and Movavi Screen Recorder will open up a ‘Preview’ window.
While Movavi Screen Recorder would have automatically saved an MKV video of the recording, if you want to save it as an audio file you can click ‘Save As’ and opt to do so. Before that you can trim out any parts of the recording that you want to get rid of – so that only the song itself remains.
Make no mistake there are lots of other tools in Movavi Screen Recorder that will allow you use it for much more than to rip songs from YouTube. Its features will let you easily adjust the frame rate, define the capture area, record keyboard and mouse actions, and more. Simply put it is a powerful screen recorder, and will prove useful in more ways than one once you’re familiar with it.
